Terrorbytes Brings Arcade Horror and Comedy to Steam Early Access

Date:

Terrorbytes, a Tron-inspired 4-player co-op horror game, launches on Steam Early Access, offering retro arcade thrills with haunted twists and endless replay value.

Jump into a haunted arcade adventure like no other! Terrorbytes, a 4-player co-op comedy horror game inspired by Tron and Stranger Things, is now available on Steam Early Access for just $7.99. Developed by Treetop and published by Over the Moon (known for The Fall and The Last Hero of Nostalgaia), this quirky horror game traps players in a haunted arcade cabinet where they must navigate mazes and collect pellets—while running from the twisted arcade villain, “Ms. Croak-Man.”

In a terrifying twist, players assume the roles of the ghosts (the former villains) and must avoid Ms. Croak-Man as they try to survive long enough to uncover the dark force that’s entrapped them in this bizarre digital world. The stakes are high, and cooperation is key if you want to make it out alive.

Managing energy is a core challenge in Terrorbytes. Every player shares an energy pool, and every action—from sprinting to using items—draws from it. With strategic teamwork, players can collect enough pellets to meet their goals while unlocking upgrades and special tools to help them survive. Choose from quirky tools like flashlights and power washers, or enhance your map room with upgrades that can spawn decoys, highlight objectives, or even let you broadcast messages to your team.

In Terrorbytes, you’ll face off against a variety of terrifying enemies, from invisible stalkers to skin-walkers, as you work together to clear levels and survive. The Early Access version launches with five levels, four playable characters, five unique tools, and six safe room upgrades. Expect more maps, enemies, and surprises to be added in future updates.

“Terrorbytes is the culmination of everything I love about gaming,” says John Warner, Founder and Studio Lead at Over the Moon. “It’s packed with goofy humor, addictive gameplay, and nostalgic throwbacks to the arcade days that inspired me as a kid. This Early Access version is just the beginning—we’ll be adding more content based on player to keep the fun going.”
